The goal of this project is to predict college entrance rates for groups of students within Virginia based on social economic factors such as race, free and reduced lunch rate, gender, and high school. This project determined which factors most impacted whether a student would be able to attend college after high school graduation. In this project we built regression models including linear regression, SVM regression, random forest regression, and KNN regression. From these models we were be able to predict the percentage of high school graduates who went to college out of a larger group of similar students who graduated from high school. From our best model, we extracted which features are the most important for predicting the percentage of a group of students who will go to college.
